Howard Roughan is a successful American author, best known for his critically acclaimed novels and his collaborations with best-selling author James Patterson. Roughan is a graduate of Dartmouth College and began his career in the advertising industry in New York City before publishing his first novel.
Roughan's first two novels, "The Up and Comer" and "The Promise of a Lie," were well-received by critics and established his reputation as a talented writer. The rights to "The Up and Comer" were optioned by October Films, and Michael Douglas is attached to produce the movie-version of the novel. Roughan has also co-authored several novels with Patterson, including "Honeymoon," "You've Been Warned," "Sail," "Don't Blink," and "Truth or Die." Their collaboration, "Murder Games," was adapted into the CBS television show “Instinct” staring Alan Cumming as Dr. Dylan Reinhart.
Roughan's keen writing skills can be attributed to his years of work in advertising. He has said that his advertising background was crucial in developing his writing skills and that he wouldn't have been able to write a single chapter without it. Roughan currently lives in Ridgefield, Connecticut with his wife and son. His latest short story, "The Cabots and The Cromwells," is available on Amazon Kindle and the Kindle app.
