ig Oliver

Ig Oliver is a talented author, hailing from rural Northamptonshire, England. He was born alongside three siblings, with a father who was a village policeman and a mother who was a trained nurse. Oliver's father was originally from Northumberland, giving him a unique "Geordie" heritage. After finishing his school days in Earl Shilton, Leicestershire, Oliver moved to Ticknall, Derbyshire, following a serious motorbike accident. It was there that he attended Wilmorton Catering College and began his career as a chef.

Oliver's culinary skills took him to many destinations across the globe, working for a variety of famous and influential people. His journey as a chef started with Brigadier T. Landon, also known as the "White Sultan," on his vast estate in Hampshire. Oliver's reputation as a brilliant young chef then led him to work for King Hussain of Jordan in the late 1980s at one of his stately homes in Palace Gardens, London. He continued to work in Geneva, Switzerland, for a Swiss Banker and the American embassy, as well as for a diamond dealer and a count in Switzerland. In America, Oliver worked in New York, Palm Springs, Palm Beach, Los Angeles, and Hartford for notable figures such as Asher Edelman, the real Gordon Gekko from the movie Wall Street, and actors Kirk Douglas and Michael Douglas.

In 1993, Oliver became the Executive Chef and Manager at the British embassy in Moscow, Russia, where he oversaw the catering for the first state visit by HRH Elizabeth II in 1994. His exceptional work in Moscow earned him an award of recommendation in the Kremlin by the Queen and Prince Philip. After returning to England in 1997, Oliver worked for the then-deputy prime minister Lord Heseltine for the next ten years. Today, he continues his work as a chef and has proven himself to be a world-class professional. However, he has now turned his attention to writing, utilizing the storytelling skills he has kept on the back-burner for most of his career. By creating beautiful illustrations to accompany his imaginative tales, Oliver has crafted a captivating four-book series filled with magic, adventure, heroism, family, and love.
