Ilana Masad

Ilana Masad is a queer Israeli-American author, essayist, and book critic. She has an extensive and impressive body of work, with her writing appearing in numerous high-profile publications. These include the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, Paris Review, NPR, BuzzFeed, Catapult, StoryQuarterly, and McSweeney's Internet Tendency, among many others. Masad's work is versatile, spanning various genres, including fiction, nonfiction, and criticism.

Masad is also the founder and host of The Other Stories, a podcast that showcases new, emerging, and established fiction writers. Her role in the podcast demonstrates her commitment to promoting and supporting other writers in their craft. Furthermore, Masad is currently pursuing her doctorate at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where she also serves as the assistant nonfiction editor for the Prairie Schooner quarterly magazine.

In addition to her work as a writer and editor, Masad is also a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and has received her Masters in English from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her academic background and experience have undoubtedly contributed to her growth and development as a writer and editor. Masad's debut novel, All My Mother's Lovers, is set to be released with Dutton in May 2020, marking an exciting milestone in her writing career.
