Isaac Marion

Isaacc Marion is a well-known American author and musician, best recognized for his science fiction and fantasy novels. He is particularly famous for his bestselling zombie romance series, Warm Bodies. Marion was born on December 30, 1981, in a location near Seattle, where he spent most of his life. He has also lived in Portland for a short period. Before writing the Warm Bodies book series, Marion had self-published three other novels. The first book of the series was published in 2010 and received significant appreciation and critical acclaim from several literary publications, including The Seattle Times, Paste, and The Guardian. Renowned authors such as Stephenie Meyer and Audrey Niffenegger also praised Marion's unique storytelling.

The film rights of the novel were acquired by Summit Entertainment and was later made into a Hollywood film with the same name in 2013. The film was directed and written by Jonathan Levine and starred Teresa Palmer, John Malkovich, and Nicholas Hoult in lead roles. In January 2013, Marion published a prequel novella to the first book titled The New Hunger, which was published as an ebook by Zola Books. Marion announced that the series would consist of four books in total. The first sequel of the debut book was released in February 2017. Marion co-directed a novel trailer for the sequel's release with Micah Knapp. Apart from writing novels, Marion has also written music and is credited for his solo album in 2007 called Dead Children under the pen name Moon Colony.

Marion's debut novel, Warm Bodies, became a New York Times bestseller and was translated into 25 languages. After eight years, four books, and a successful movie, the Warm Bodies series reached its conclusion with the release of The Living. Marion currently resides in a shed in the eastern Washington wilderness with his cat.
