Isabel Bandeira is a debut author who was surrounded by trees and lakes in her hometown in Southern New Jersey, on the edge of the Pine Barrens. Her experiences during her summers spent in Portugal, where she visited cathedrals, castles, and ancient tombs, contributed to her fascination with fairy tales. This fascination eventually led her to write her own stories, fueled further by her glitter addiction.
By day, Bandeira works as a Mechanical Engineer, designing and developing medical devices. In her spare time, she indulges in various hobbies, including reading, dancing, figure skating, and knitting. She is also an avid collector of vintage hats. Bandeira's love for books is evident in her home, where she lives with her little black cat and a vast collection of literature. She is represented by Carrie Howland of Donadio & Olson.
Isabel Bandeira's upbringing in a natural environment in Southern New Jersey, along with her exposure to the historical landmarks in Portugal, had a significant impact on her imagination and writing.
