J.A. Andrews is an American author, best known for her fantasy fiction series, "The Keeper Chronicles" and "The Keeper Origins." Despite her current success as a writer, Andrews never considered becoming a professional author during her youth. She was encouraged by her family and peers to pursue a career in the sciences, as her father was an engineer, and she herself had a strong interest in math, writing, and science.
In college, Andrews majored in engineering, but soon discovered that it was not as exciting as she had initially thought. She found the subject matter to be overly focused on measurement and technical details, with little room for creativity. However, she did find aerospace engineering to be intriguing, as it allowed her to indulge in her love for fantasy fiction and space science. Despite this, she ultimately decided to become a telecommunications engineer after graduation, a career choice that she found to be unfulfilling.
It wasn't until after the birth of her first child that Andrews decided to leave her engineering career behind and try something new. She had always had a passion for writing, and with the extra time on her hands, she began to focus on her craft. In 2016, she published her debut novel, "A Threat of Shadows," the first book in "The Keeper Chronicles" series. The series has since become a bestseller, cementing Andrews's place as a successful and accomplished author in the fantasy fiction genre.
