J A Johnstone

J.A. Johnstone is a well-established author, best known for his western novels and military fiction. He is the nephew of the late American novelist, William W. Johnstone. From a young age, J.A. was taught by his uncle and eventually became his assistant, typist, researcher, and fact-checker. After William's passing in 2004, J.A. was selected to continue his uncle's legacy.

J.A. was an all-around assistant to one of the most popular western authors of all time, his uncle, William W. Johnstone, who preferred to be called Bill. Bill began tutoring J.A. at an early age, and after-school hours were often spent retyping manuscripts or researching his massive American Western History library. J.A. worked tirelessly and learned everything he could about storytelling and creating believable characters from his uncle. Bill emphasized the importance of historical accuracy and encouraged J.A. to be the best writer he could be, just as his own grandfather had advised him. J.A. took his uncle's teachings to heart and has since become a successful author in his own right, continuing his uncle's legacy of writing thrilling and well-written western and military fiction.
