J.C. Eaton is a pseudonym for the writing team of Ann I. Goldfarb and James E. Clapp. Both authors have distinct backgrounds and skills that they bring to their cozy mystery writing. Ann I. Goldfarb, a New York native, spent most of her life in education, working as a classroom teacher, middle school principal, and professional staff developer. She has also authored nine young adult time travel mysteries under her own name. On the other hand, James E. Clapp has a background in construction and the winery industry. He worked as a tasting room manager for a large upstate New York winery before retiring and turning to co-authoring cozy mysteries with his wife.
The duo is best known for their Book Club Mysteries, with "Booked for Murder" being the debut novel. Their writing partnership is an unlikely one, but it has proven to be successful. While Ann focuses on the storyline and character development, James takes care of the technical aspects of their books. Their different perspectives and strengths have enabled them to create a cast of memorable characters and intriguing mystery plots that keep their readers engaged. The couple now resides in Arizona, where they continue to write and find inspiration for their murder mysteries. Their book, "Booked 4 Murder," won first place in the 2018 New Mexico-Arizona Book Awards in the Cozy Mystery Category.
