J.S. Morin

J.S. Morin is an American author, well-known for his work in the science fiction and fantasy genres. He is best known for his expansive Black Ocean series, which includes the sub-series Mercy for Hire, Astral Prime, and Galaxy Outlaws. In addition to Black Ocean, Morin is also the author of the Project Transhuman series and the Twinborn Chronicles.

Born in 1977 in New Hampshire, Morin discovered his love for fantasy novels at a young age. He was particularly captivated by the works of authors such as Ed Greenwood, Tracy Hickman, R.A. Salvatore, and Margaret Weiss. Morin's passion for storytelling and world-building was ignited by these early influences, and he would go on to pursue a career as a writer.

Morin has held a variety of jobs throughout his life, including working as an unpaid Little League pitcher, a cashier, a student library aide, a factory grunt, a cubicle drone, and an engineer. However, he has always been a storyteller at heart. Eventually, Morin began writing books based on the "stray stories" in his head, and he has been writing full-time ever since. He takes pleasure in strategy, worldbuilding, and the unique privilege of word creation that comes with being a fantasy author. Morin is also an avid gamer and enjoys thinking sideways thoughts. Despite his talents in writing, he admits that he cannot sing or dance and that his artistic abilities are limited to notebook doodles. Nonetheless, Morin believes that his writing allows readers to see him at his best. His ultimate goal is to be both clever and correct in his work, although he acknowledges that he has yet to achieve this.
