Jack Blindt

Jack Blindt is an author whose work draws from his unconventional life experiences, particularly his years running a pub in rural New Hampshire. His collection of stories and essays, titled "Beer Tap Tales," captures the colorful characters and memorable moments from that period. Born in Newark, New Jersey, Blindt grew up in Millburn and Springfield before graduating from Missouri Valley College in 1969. He worked as a social worker in Newark and later in Culpeper, Virginia, before embarking on his six-year stint as a pub owner in New Hampshire. After relocating to Elizabeth City, North Carolina, in 1983, he transitioned to the food service industry, operating Betsy Tooley’s Deli and later The Sandwich Market. Following his retirement in 2016, Blindt revisited his journals and notes, which inspired him to compile his stories into published works. His writing reflects a lifetime of diverse encounters, infused with wit and authenticity.
