Jack Wang

Jack Wang is the author of the acclaimed short story collection "We Two Alone," published by House of Anansi Press in 2020 and HarperVia in 2021. The collection won the Danuta Gleed Literary Award for best debut in English and was shortlisted for the Kobo Emerging Writer Prize. It was also named among CBC Books' Best Canadian Fiction of 2020 and appeared on year-end lists by Quill and Quire and 49th Shelf. His fiction has been recognized with nominations for the Commonwealth Short Story Prize and the Journey Prize, and his work has appeared in literary journals such as Brick, PRISM international, and The Malahat Review.

Wang holds a BSc from the University of Toronto, an MFA from the University of Arizona, and a PhD from Florida State University. A recipient of the David T. K. Wong Creative Writing Fellowship at the University of East Anglia and a residency at Historic Joy Kogawa House, he is an associate professor in the Department of Writing at Ithaca College. His academic background and international fellowships inform his nuanced storytelling, which often explores themes of migration, identity, and belonging.

Originally from Vancouver, Wang now lives in Ithaca, New York, with his wife, novelist Angelina Mirabella, and their two daughters. His literary career bridges creative writing and academia, with his short fiction continuing to garner critical praise for its emotional depth and narrative precision.
