James Aitcheson

James Aitcheson is a talented author who was born in Wiltshire, England in 1985. He has always been passionate about history, particularly the Middle Ages, and pursued his interest by studying History at Emmanuel College, Cambridge. It was during his time at university that he developed a special interest in the Norman Conquest and Anglo-Saxon England.

Aitcheson's debut novel, Sworn Sword, was published in 2011 and marked the beginning of his successful writing career. The novel, which is the first volume in the Conquest Series, features the knight Tancred and is set in the aftermath of the Battle of Hastings. Sworn Sword has been followed by two sequels, The Splintered Kingdom and Knights of the Hawk, which have also been well-received by readers and critics alike.

In addition to the Conquest Series, Aitcheson has also written The Harrowing, a standalone novel published by Quercus in 2016. The Harrowing has been praised by The Times, which named it as a Book of the Month. Aitcheson's novels have been translated into several languages and are popular in the UK, US, Germany, and the Czech Republic.

Currently, Aitcheson is working on his fifth novel while completing his PhD in Creative Writing at the University of Nottingham. His dedication to his craft and his passion for history have made him a respected and successful author in the historical fiction genre.
