James Maxwell is a New Zealand-born author, best known for his highly popular Action & Adventure, Epic Fantasy, Fantasy, and Science Fiction novels. Raised in both New Zealand and Australia, Maxwell took inspiration from the forests of these two countries from a young age. His love for fantasy and science fiction novels led him to begin writing at the age of 11. Since then, he has traveled to 40 countries over six continents, drawing inspiration from each one.
Maxwell is best known for the Evermen Saga, and the Shifting Tides series of novels. His first published novel, "Enchantress," was the first book in the Evermen Saga series and was critically acclaimed. Growing up in the Bay of Islands, New Zealand, a region known for its natural beauty, Maxwell's writing is characterized by the creation of vivid worlds and epic, interwoven plot lines following themes of adventure and romance. He has sold over a million copies of his books, with a wide readership in North America, the United Kingdom, Australia, South Africa, Japan, India, and Brazil. His novels appeal to readers of all ages, ranging from teenagers to octogenarians.
Maxwell was educated in Brisbane, Australia, and later relocated to London, where he established his writing career with the publication of "Enchantress" in 2012. He has been writing full-time since his early thirties and previously worked as a software developer. Maxwell currently lives in London, England, and divides his time between there and Australia's Sunshine Coast, where he lives with his wife and daughter.
