James Sheehan is a best-selling American author, renowned for his legal thriller novels, particularly the Jack Tobin series. Born in New York City, Sheehan was raised in a four-room railroad apartment with five of his siblings. From a young age, he took on various jobs such as shining shoes, delivering newspapers, working at a local delicatessen, an antique store, and as a construction worker during his summers. He also worked as a short-order cook throughout his college years and a roofer's assistant while attending graduate school in Florida.
After moving to Florida in 1974, Sheehan embarked on a career in law in 1977, working as a trial lawyer for over three decades. His legal career provided him with a wealth of experience and knowledge, which he later used to create his thrilling and suspenseful legal novels. Today, Sheehan is not only a successful novelist but also a law professor at Stetson University College of Law and the Director of the Tampa Law Center.
