James W. Hall is an accomplished American author, known for his suspense thrillers and the Thorn P.I. series. Born in New York, Hall later moved to Florida, where he earned his master’s degree in creative writing from Johns Hopkins University and a doctorate in literature from the University of Utah. He has since divided his time between South Florida and North Carolina with his wife, Evelyn, and their three dogs.
In addition to his successful Thorn series, Hall has written numerous standalone novels, screenplays, poetry collections, short story anthologies, and works of non-fiction. His work has been translated into over a dozen languages, showcasing his global appeal. Among his many accolades, Hall has won the prestigious Edgar and Shamus Awards, as well as the John D. MacDonald Award for Excellence in Florida Fiction.
As a dedicated educator, Hall has shared his expertise with students at Fulbright in Spain and Florida International University, where he taught for 40 years.
