Jamie Lyn Smith

Jamie Lyn Smith is a writer, editor, and educator whose work explores contemporary social issues through literary fiction. Her writing has appeared in prominent journals such as The Pinch, The Mississippi Review, The Kenyon Review, and American Literary Review. She is currently completing "Hometown," a novel examining millennial struggles and the growth of white nationalism in the rural Midwest, which earned her a 2020 Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award. Her debut short story collection, "Township," is forthcoming from Cornerstone Press.

Smith holds a BA in English and Theatre from Kenyon College, an MFA in Creative Writing from Ohio State University, and a Masters in Education from Fordham University. As Fiction Editor for BreakBread Magazine and Consulting Editor for the Kenyon Review, she actively supports emerging literary voices. Her writing often delves into themes of identity, societal tensions, and the complexities of modern life in America's heartland.

Balancing her creative practice with editorial work, Smith continues to contribute to the literary community while developing new projects. Her dual roles as both a writer and editor reflect her deep engagement with contemporary storytelling.
