Jane Johnson

Jane Johnson is a highly accomplished author, hailing from Cornwall, with a vast experience of over 30 years in the book industry. She has worked in various capacities including as a bookseller, publisher, and writer. Johnson has a first-class honors degree in English, a teaching degree, and a Master's degree in Old Icelandic language and literature, which has significantly contributed to her knowledge and expertise in the field. She is renowned for her works in historical fiction, fantasy, children's novels, and non-fiction books. Johnson also writes under the pseudonyms Jude Fisher and Gabriel King, in collaboration with M. John Harrison.

In addition to her writing career, Johnson has had a significant impact on the publishing industry. She was responsible for publishing the works of J.R.R. Tolkien during the 1980s and 1990s, and worked on Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings movie trilogy, spending many months in New Zealand with the cast and crew. Under the pseudonym of Jude Fisher, she wrote three bestselling Visual Companions to the films. Johnson currently divides her time between Morocco and Cornwall with her husband, Abdellatif, whom she fondly refers to as her "Beber pirate."
