Jane Lovering is a well-known author, born in Devon, England, who now resides in Yorkshire. She has a unique background, having five children, four cats, two dogs, and an unusual perspective on housework. According to Lovering, she doesn't believe in housework, and her children have learned self-defensive cookery at early ages. She works in a local school and also teaches creative writing, which she sees as a way to avoid the washing up.
Lovering has been a published author since 2008 and is known for writing romantic comedies that are often described as 'quirky.' She has a first-class honors degree in creative writing and is a member of the Romantic Novelists' Association. In 2012, Lovering's novel, "Please Don't Stop the Music," won the Romantic Novel of the Year Award by the RNA. She has also won other awards, including the RoNA ROSE (Novella of the Year) 2018 with "Christmas at the Little Village School" and Fantasy Romantic Novel of the Year 2019 with "Living in the Past."
Despite her success, Lovering has a self-deprecating sense of humor. She describes herself as owning possibly the world's worst dog, a Patterdale Terrier, and having five practically grown-up children. Lovering has a variety of interests, including marshmallows, the smell of cucumbers, words beginning with B, and Doctor Who. She writes with her laptop balanced on her knees whilst lying on her bed. Lovering's hobbies are not well-known, but she is known to enjoy challenging people to see how many marshmallows she can fit in her mouth at once.
