Jane Pek

Jane Pek is a talented author who was born and raised in Singapore, and currently resides in New York. She has accomplished a great deal in her writing career, with her short fiction appearing in the prestigious anthology, The Best American Short Stories. Pek's debut novel, The Verifiers, is set to be published by Vintage/Knopf in February 2022, further establishing her presence in the literary world.

In addition to her writing, Pek holds several degrees, including a BA in History from Yale University, a JD from the New York University School of Law, and an MFA from Brooklyn College. These academic achievements have no doubt contributed to her ability to craft compelling and thought-provoking stories. During the day, and sometimes night, Pek works as a lawyer at a global investment company, demonstrating her versatility and ability to excel in multiple fields.

Outside of her professional pursuits, Pek has a variety of interests that bring her joy. She enjoys picking up different martial arts, having tried taekwondo, capoeira, and Krav Maga. Pek is also an avid reader, particularly fond of coming-of-age novels. She enjoys watching contemporary theatre and cycling around the city in search of the perfect almond croissant. These hobbies speak to Pek's curiosity and appreciation for diverse experiences, which is reflected in her writing.
