Janet Finsilver is a successful author of cozy mystery fiction, best known for her USA Today bestselling Kelly Jackson mystery series. Originally from the country, Finsilver has always had a love for animals and the outdoors. She worked for many years in education as a workshop presenter, program administrator, and teacher, and has a Master’s Degree in Education with a major in English.
Finsilver's love for adventure and animals is evident in her past experiences. She has ridden horses in Western style since she was four years old and was a member of the National Ski Patrol. One of the highlights of her life was visiting San Ignacio Lagoon to interact with whales. These experiences have no doubt influenced her writing, adding depth and authenticity to her characters and settings.
Finsilver's debut novel, Murder at Redwood Cove, was published in 2015 and quickly became a success. She has since written several more titles in the ongoing series, including Murder at the Mansion, Murder at the Fortune Teller's Table, Murder at the Mushroom Festival, Murder at the Marina, and Murder in the Wine Country. When she is not writing, Finsilver enjoys skiing, cooking, riding horses, and, of course, reading. She currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and two dogs, Ellie and Kylie.
