Janice Steinberg

Janice Steinberg is an accomplished author, best known for her 2013-published novel "The Tin Horse." She grew up in Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin, a charming suburb of Milwaukee located right on Lake Michigan. One of her earliest memories is of standing in a cozy brick building that was once the public library with her mother. Steinberg's love for reading and writing developed at a young age, and she pursued her passion for literature at the University of California-Irvine, where she received both a B.A. and M.A. It was there that she met her husband, Jack Cassidy.

Steinberg has had a diverse career, holding various jobs such as urban planning, public relations, grant writing, journalism, editing, and teaching. However, her true love has always been fiction writing and arts journalism. She has published more than 400 articles in various publications, including The San Diego Union-Tribune, Dance Magazine, the Los Angeles Times, and others. Additionally, she has taught novel writing at the University of California, San Diego extension and dance criticism at San Diego State University.

Steinberg is also an award-winning arts journalist and has authored five mystery novels, including the Shamus Award-nominated "Death in a City of Mystics." She has a blue belt in the Nia dance-fitness form and teaches regular classes. Steinberg is a native of Wisconsin but has lived in California for many years, where she currently resides in San Diego with her husband. Her novel "The Tin Horse," published by Random House, is a significant achievement in her writing career.
