Janina Ramírez

Janina Sara María Ramírez is a British art historian, cultural commentator, and television presenter specializing in medieval art and literature. She is known for her ability to decode historical symbols and contextualize artistic works within their cultural frameworks. Ramírez has authored several acclaimed books, including "The Private Lives of the Saints" and "Femina: A New History of the Middle Ages Through the Women Written Out of It," which explore overlooked narratives in medieval history.

Educated at St Anne's College, Oxford, Ramírez holds a degree in English literature with a focus on Old and Middle English, followed by postgraduate studies at the University of York. Her doctoral research examined avian symbolism in medieval art and literature, laying the foundation for her academic career.
