Jasmine Cresswell is a highly accomplished author, best known for her work in contemporary romance, mystery, historical romance, suspense, regency, thriller, and romantic suspense genres. She has written over seventy novels in her career, which have been published in over seventeen languages and distributed in over twenty-five different countries. Cresswell's books have sold over seventeen million copies in printed form, making her a widely read author worldwide. Some of her most popular novel series include the Joubert series, Raven series, Deane series, Moreton series, and Melody Beecham series.
Cresswell was born as Jasmine Rosemary Cresswell in 1941 in Wales and spent her early years in London. After graduating from high school, she obtained a diploma in technical German and French from London's Lycee Francais Charles de Gaulle. She then began working at the British Foreign Office and was stationed at Rio de Janeiro's British Embassy, where she met her future husband, Malcolm Candlish.
Cresswell now divides her time between her winter home in Sarasota, Florida, and her summer home in Evergreen, Colorado. She has been writing since 1975 and has published over 50 novels, with 9 million copies of her books in print. Cresswell has received numerous accolades for her work, including the Colorado Authors' League Award for Best Paperback Novel of the Year, the Romance Writers of America Golden Rose Award, and numerous Romantic Times certificates of excellence. She is also an experienced public speaker, having conducted college seminars and addressed many writers' conferences. Cresswell has been featured in numerous newspaper interviews and talk shows throughout her career.
Cresswell is highly educated, holding a Bachelor's Degree with a double major in history and philosophy from Melbourne University, a second degree in history from Macquarie University, as well as a Masters Degree in history and archival administration from Case Western Reserve University in Ohio. She has served as the editor of the Romance Writer's Report for two years and has held leadership positions in several professional organizations, including serving as president of Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers and as a founder and former president of Novelists, Inc.
