Jason Mott

Jason Mott is a talented author who hails from southeastern North Carolina. He has a strong background in creative writing, having earned both a BFA in Fiction and an MFA in Poetry from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Mott's writing has been featured in various literary journals, including Prick of the Spindle, The Thomas Wolfe Review, The Kakalak Anthology of Carolina Poets, Measure, and Chautauqua. His work has been well-received, with a 2009 Pushcart Prize nomination and a nod from Entertainment Weekly as one of their "New Hollywood: Next Wave" people to watch.

In addition to his poetry collections, We Call This Thing Between Us Love and "...hide behind me...", Mott has also achieved success as a novelist. His debut novel, The Returned, has been optioned by Brad Pitt's production company, Plan B, in association with Brillstein Entertainment and ABC. The novel will air in March, 2014 on the ABC network under the title "Resurrection." The Returned tells the story of people who return from the dead, and the impact their return has on their loved ones and the world at large. Mott's unique and thought-provoking writing style is sure to make The Returned a must-read for fans of literary fiction.
