Jay Kristoff is a highly accomplished author of science fiction and fantasy novels. Born in 1973 in Perth, Australia, he grew up with an enthusiastic personality and a love for tabletop games, most notably Dungeons and Dragons. After completing a Bachelor’s of Arts degree, he embarked on a career in creative advertisement in television. However, his literary career did not take off until eleven years later with a steampunk writing project, marking the beginning of his successful career as an author.
Kristoff is well-known for his New York Times and international bestselling series, including the Lotus War Trilogy, Illuminae Files, and Nevernight Chronicle. His works are published in over thirty-five countries and have sold over two million copies in print. He has received numerous accolades for his writing, including eight Aurealis Awards and an ABIA. Despite his impressive achievements, Kristoff remains humble and is surprised by his own success.
Kristoff is a tall man, standing at 6'7", and currently resides in Melbourne, Australia with his wife and dog. He has a unique outlook on life and is known for his stance against happy endings in his stories. With approximately 12,000 days left to live, he continues to captivate readers with his imaginative storytelling and compelling characters.
