Jaye Robin Brown, who goes by Jro amongst her friends, is a successful American author of young adult novels. Before finding her calling as a writer, Brown had a variety of occupations, including working as a jeweler, mediator, and high school art teacher. She considers herself a Southerner, having lived in Alabama, Atlanta, and near Asheville. However, she currently resides in Boston, Massachusetts.
Brown grew up on the Gulf Coast of Alabama in the small town of Belle Fontaine and attended high school in the neighboring city of Mobile. Throughout her life, she has been known by many different occupations, but she has now fully embraced the identity of a writer. Brown currently resides in the northern mountains near Asheville, North Carolina, where she finds inspiration for her work. Previously, she lived in Atlanta, Georgia, and spent time teaching in local high schools. This fall, she will be trying out city living in Boston, Massachusetts.
In addition to her young adult novels, such as "No Place to Fall," "Will's Story," "Georgia Peaches and Other Forbidden Fruit," "The Meaning of Birds," and "The Key to You and Me," Brown has also recently released her first adult novel, "Five Months or Forever." She lives with her wife, dogs, cats, and horses in a sweet house in NC horse country, where she hopes to live happily ever after.
