Jeannette Walls is an accomplished American author, well-known for her fiction and non-fiction works. She has also made a name for herself as a journalist, having worked as a gossip columnist for MSNBC.com. Growing up, Walls experienced a transient lifestyle with her family, moving frequently across different states, and at times, facing homelessness. Despite these challenges, she persevered and went on to complete high school in New York City and graduated with honors from Barnard College in 1984.
Walls is perhaps best known for her memoir, "The Glass Castle," which was published in 2005 and quickly became a New York Times bestseller. The book provides an account of her unconventional upbringing and the memories she has of her nomadic family's life. "The Glass Castle" has been translated into over 30 languages and was adapted into a film in 2017, starring Brie Larson.
In addition to "The Glass Castle," Walls has authored several other successful works. These include "Half Broke Horses," a best-selling novel published in 2009, and "The Silver Star," another well-received novel released in 2013.
