Jeff Crook is an American author, well-known for his work in the fantasy and mystery genres. He has penned several novels, including the Jackie Lyons mystery series. Crook began his writing career contributing to popular fantasy series such as Dragonlance, AD&D, and Forgotten Realms. When he is not writing, working, gardening, or tending to his cat, Crook enjoys socializing with others, eating good food, and drinking wine. He and his wife, Jessica, live in Crook's family home, which may also be inhabited by some of his ancestors.
In addition to his work in fantasy, Crook has also made a name for himself in the "shared worlds" genre, where he wrote stories for pre-existing settings prepared by other authors. He has been behind some of Wizards of the Coast's best publications for their tabletop RPG games and is also behind some of the Dungeons and Dragons sourcebooks. Crook has also published his own mystery/suspense novel, "The Sleeping and the Dead," which centers around an ex-cop with unusual powers.
Crook and his wife, Lady Jessica, reside in the Quinn family home, where they are surrounded by Jeff's ancestors. In his spare time, Crook enjoys gardening, particularly growing tomatoes and grass, and he is known to neglect most other responsibilities in favor of writing. He has a cat that requires feeding and occasionally likes to socialize with others. Crook has a complicated relationship with food and wine, enjoying both but recognizing that they can be expensive hobbies. When everything is quiet, and the house is dark, Crook can often be found lying in bed, trying to turn off his brain so he can go to sleep.
