Jennifer Banash is an author and former professor of English and creative writing, best known for her young adult novels. Her works include "Silent Alarm," a finalist for the American Library Association’s Best Fiction for Young Adults, as well as "White Lines," "Simply Irresistible," "In Too Deep," and "The Elite." Her writing often explores themes of identity, ambition, and the complexities of adolescence.
Born and raised in New York City, Banash has a distinctive connection to urban life, having once lived in an illegal sublet next to the Hells Angels’ former headquarters on the Lower East Side. In addition to her writing career, she co-founded Impetus Press, an independent publishing house dedicated to literary fiction with a pop sensibility. She currently resides in Southern California with her beagle, Sigmund.
