Jennifer Berg

Jennifer Berg is an author specializing in traditional murder mysteries with a focus on challenging yet solvable plots. Her work often features strong female and male protagonists, set against vividly rendered historical backdrops. Berg debuted with two titles published by Barking Rain Press in 2017, followed by her short story "Schemes in the Dark," which was selected for the 2020 Bouchercon Anthology. She is best known for her Elliott Bay Mysteries series, set in 1950s Seattle and published by Level Best Books, with titles released consecutively from 2021 to 2023.

Berg draws inspiration from her upbringing on Washington's Olympic Peninsula, infusing her narratives with regional authenticity and period detail. Her writing reflects a deep appreciation for classical mystery traditions while offering fresh perspectives through well-crafted characters and intricate plotting.
