Jennifer Castle is a successful author, born in New York City on October 9, 1967. Although her family moved away when she was just three years old, she still considers the city to be her home. After receiving her B.A. in Creative Writing at Brown University, Castle worked in various fields, including as a celebrity publicist’s assistant, an advertising copywriter, and a struggling screenwriter. She eventually found her niche producing websites for children and teens.
Castle's writing career took off with her debut young adult novel, "The Beginning of After," which was a 2012 YALSA Best Fiction for Young Adults selection and a Chicago Public Library "Best of the Best" book. Her subsequent novel, "You Look Different in Real Life," was a 2015 Florida Teens Read selection. Her most recent young adult novel, "What Happens Now," was published in June 2016. In addition to her young adult novels, Castle has also written for children, including the "Aristokittens" chapter book series, which continues the story of Disney's iconic kittens from "The Aristocats." She has also authored a four-book middle grade fantasy series from Bloomsbury USA called "Butterfly Wishes."
Beyond writing, Castle has a passion for beachcombing, theatre, and sci-fi. She is also involved in animal rescue work and currently lives in New York's Hudson Valley with her family of humans and cats.
