Jennifer L. Armentrout is a bestselling American author, known for her works in young adult, adult, and new adult fiction. She was born in June 1980 and grew up in Martinsburg, West Virginia. Armentrout has been writing since 2011 and has already topped the New York Times and USA Today bestseller lists. She is famous for her Covenant series, Lux series, and Wait For You series. In addition, the film rights to her novel Obsidian were purchased by Sierra Pictures.
Armentrout currently resides in West Virginia with her husband and their dogs, Diesel and Loki, a K-9 and a Jack Russell, respectively. Contrary to the belief that she is constantly hard at work, she spends much of her time reading, working out, watching movies, and hanging out with her husband. She is known to have a particular affinity for zombie movies. Despite her busy schedule, Armentrout was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa in early 2015, a genetic disorder that affects the retina and can lead to blindness. Since then, she has become an advocate for educating people about varying degrees of blindness.
Armentrout's writing career began in algebra class, where she spent most of her time writing short stories instead of focusing on math, which explains her poor grades in the subject. She writes in various genres, including young adult paranormal, science fiction, fantasy, and contemporary romance. Her books are published by Tor, HarperCollins Avon and William Morrow, Entangled Teen and Brazen, Disney/Hyperion, and Harlequin Teen. Some of her notable works include Wait for You, Fall With Me, Obsidian, and The Problem with Forever. In addition to writing under Jennifer L. Armentrout, she also publishes adult and new adult contemporary and paranormal romance under the name J. Lynn. Armentrout is the owner of ApollyCon and The Origin Event, two successful annual events featuring bestselling authors in young adult, new adult, and adult fiction.
