Jennifer Moffett

Jennifer Moffett is an author and educator whose writing spans young adult fiction, short stories, and poetry. Her debut novel, "Those Who Prey," is a YA thriller published by Atheneum, an imprint of Simon & Schuster. The book follows a college freshman drawn into a dangerous cult that leads her on a deadly mission trip to Italy. Moffett's shorter works have appeared in literary journals such as New Orleans Review and descant, showcasing her versatility across genres.

Born and raised in Arkansas, Moffett developed an early love for storytelling while exploring the outdoors. Her passion for travel was ignited during a college study abroad program in Italy, which later influenced her writing. Before pursuing fiction, she worked in children's television in New York City and earned a Master's in Creative Writing from the University of Mississippi. Moffett now teaches creative writing on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, where she balances her literary pursuits with kayaking, gardening, and planning new adventures.
