Jennifer Oakley Denslow

Jennifer Oakley Denslow is the author of the cozy mystery "Rapier Wit" and the historical novel "An Ignorance of Means." Her lifelong passion for storytelling began in childhood, leading her to write creatively from an early age. Denslow holds a BA in English and a Master’s degree in Composition and Rhetoric, which solidified her dedication to writing. Her works often feature strong female protagonists navigating complex historical or contemporary settings.

Denslow's career spans both literature and theater, including 26 years as a theater educator and award-winning essayist. Inspired by historical figures like the "fille de cassette" (casket girls) sent to French colonies, she crafted "An Ignorance of Means" to explore women's experiences in bygone eras. Her writing emphasizes sharp intellects and immersive narratives that transport readers beyond everyday life. When not writing, Denslow coaches debate teams and mentors young actors, fostering creativity in others. She resides in northeast Oklahoma with her husband, surrounded by an extensive personal library.
