Jennifer Robson is a renowned author of historical fiction novels. She was born into a family with a rich historical background, with her father being an acclaimed historian. This upbringing sparked her interest in history, which is reflected in her writing. Robson's debut novel, "Somewhere in France," was the first book in the bestselling "Great War" series, and she has since written several other novels set during and after World War I and World War II.
Robson is not only a history enthusiast but also holds academic credentials in the field. She earned a degree in Modern History and French Literature from Western University’s King’s University College and went on to receive a Ph.D. in British social and economic history from the University of Oxford’s Saint Antony’s College. During her time at Oxford, she was an SSHRC Doctoral Fellow and a Commonwealth Scholar. Before becoming a full-time author, Robson worked as an editor for several years.
In addition to her academic background and experience as an editor, Robson is also a lifelong history nerd. She first learned about the Great War from her father, and later served as an official guide at the Canadian National War Memorial at Vimy Ridge, France. These experiences have given her a deep understanding and appreciation for history, which she brings to life in her writing. Robson currently resides in Toronto, Canada with her husband and children.
