Jenny Boully is the author of four books, including "not merely because of the unknown that was stalking toward them" (Tarpaulin Sky Press), "The Books of Beginnings and Endings" (Sarabande Books), and "The Body: An Essay" (Essay Press, originally published by Slope Editions). Her chapbook "Moveable Types" was released by Noemi Press. Boully's work has been featured in prestigious anthologies such as "The Best American Poetry," "The Next American Essay," and "Great American Prose Poems: From Poe to the Present."
Born in Thailand and raised in Texas by farming and fishing parents, Boully pursued higher education with a focus on literature and philosophy. She earned a BA in English and philosophy from Hollins University, followed by an MA in English Criticism and Writing. She later completed an MFA in poetry at the University of Notre Dame and a PhD in English from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. Boully currently resides in Chicago with her family and teaches at Columbia College Chicago.
