Jenny McLachlan is a British author known for her young adult fiction, particularly her debut novel "Flirty Dancing" and its subsequent series. After studying English at university and working as a secondary school teacher, she channeled her passion for literature into writing. Her breakthrough came when she developed the story of Bea and her friends, which evolved into a four-book series published by Bloomsbury.

McLachlan's writing is infused with humor and relatable teenage experiences, reflecting her background in teaching and her connection with young audiences. The "Flirty Dancing" series, featuring characters like Betty, Kat, and Pearl, showcases her ability to craft vibrant, cinematic narratives.
