Jeremy Szal

Jeremy Szal is an Australian bestselling science fiction author best known for the Common trilogy, a dark space opera series published by Gollancz. His novels include "Stormblood," "Blindspace," and "Wolfskin," which explore a universe where a drug derived from alien DNA induces permanent addiction to adrenaline and aggression. Szal has published over fifty short stories in outlets such as Nature, Tor.com, and Lightspeed, with his work translated into six languages and featured in numerous anthologies.

Before focusing on novels, Szal served as the fiction editor for the Hugo-winning podcast StarShipSofa, where he collaborated with notable authors like George R.R. Martin and William Gibson. His writing often centers on morally complex protagonists, found families, and dystopian settings. A graduate of the University of New South Wales with degrees in Film Studies and Creative Writing, Szal resides in Sydney, where he balances writing with an appreciation for unconventional films and dark humor.
