Jesse Jacobs

Jesse Jacobs is a Canadian cartoonist and illustrator known for his distinctive psychedelic and geometric art style. Born in Moncton, New Brunswick, he has gained recognition for works such as "By This Shall You Know Him," "Safari Honeymoon," and "Crawl Space," the latter of which was nominated for an Eisner Award for Best New Album. His short comics have been featured in Fantagraphics' "Best American Comics" anthology multiple times between 2012 and 2018. Most of his longer works have been published by the Canadian small press Koyama Press.

Jacobs began his career in animation, contributing to projects such as Cartoon Network's "Adventure Time," and has also worked as a game developer. His debut graphic novel, "Even the Giants," was released by AdHouse Books in 2010. His storytelling often blends surreal visuals with philosophical themes, creating immersive and thought-provoking narratives. "By This Shall You Know Him" was later translated into German as "Hieran Sollst Du Ihn Erkennen" by Rotopolpress in 2013. Jacobs continues to reside in London, Ontario, where he remains active in the comics and illustration community.
