Jessi Zabarsky

Jessi Zabarsky is a cartoonist, illustrator, and animator best known for her debut graphic novel, "Witchlight," published by Random House Graphic in 2020. Born in northern Ohio in 1988, she has been creating comics centered on themes of food, emotions, and magic since 2006. Her work blends whimsical storytelling with vibrant visuals, earning recognition for its unique charm and heartfelt narratives.

Raised in the woods, Zabarsky draws inspiration from nature and folklore, which often permeate her storytelling. She splits the creation of "Witchlight" between Akron and Chicago, where she now resides with her cat and an extensive collection of plants. Her artistic style combines delicate linework with rich, expressive colors, creating immersive worlds that resonate with readers. Zabarsky continues to explore themes of connection and transformation in her work, solidifying her place in contemporary graphic literature.
