Jessica Knoll is a successful American author, best known for her New York Times Bestselling novels, "The Favorite Sister" and "Luckiest Girl Alive." The latter has been adapted into a Netflix film starring Mila Kunis. Prior to her success as a novelist, Knoll worked as a senior editor at Cosmopolitan and as the articles editor at SELF.
Knoll was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia. She attended The Shipley School in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, before going on to earn her graduate degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York. After graduation, Knoll moved to New York City with the dream of becoming an established author. She took on various assistant jobs and internships, but ultimately found herself unemployed and considering giving up on her dream. However, before leaving the city, she decided to try one more assistant job at Cosmopolitan magazine. This position proved to be a turning point in her career, and she remained with the company for an extended period of time.
In addition to her successful writing career, Knoll is also a wife and pet owner. She is married and lives in Los Angeles with her husband and bulldog, Franklin. Her third novel, "Bright Young Women," is set to publish on September 19th.
