Jessica Redland is a bestselling author who was born in Teesside but currently resides in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. She is well-known for creating the fictional seaside town of Whitsborough Bay, which serves as the setting for many of her books. However, her Hedgehog Hollow series takes place in a new countryside setting in the Yorkshire Wolds. Redland lives with her husband, teenage daughter, and sprocker spaniel, Ella.
Redland is a self-proclaimed stationery addict who has a sizable collection of notepads. She loves chocolate, hedgehogs, 80s music, collectible teddy bears, and lighthouses. Before becoming a full-time author, Redland worked in HR for many years, specializing in resourcing, coaching, and L&D. She had a brief stint in retail, where she set up and managed her own specialist teddy bear shop, which inspired her debut novel, "Bear With Me." In June 2020, Redland left the world of HR to pursue her dream of becoming a full-time author. She is grateful to her readers for helping her fulfill this long-held ambition.
Redland's books are set in various locations, including the stunning North Yorkshire Coast, the Yorkshire Wolds, and, most recently, the lakes and mountains. Her series, "Escape to the Lakes," began in July 2023 and is set in her favorite part of the country. Redland is passionate about her writing and feels fortunate to be able to spend every day chatting with her fictional friends and creating new stories. She is grateful to her readers for their support and for helping her fulfill her dream of becoming a full-time author.
