Jessica Ryn

Jessica Ryn is a British author whose writing career emerged from her professional background in midwifery and homeless resettlement work. Her debut novel, "The Extraordinary Hope of Dawn Brightside," explores themes of resilience and human connection, drawing from her firsthand experiences in social care. She has also been recognized for her short fiction, with works shortlisted for the Kimberly Chambers’ Kickstarter Award, Wordsmag, and the Val Wood Prize for Creative Writing.

After completing her MA in Creative Writing at CCCU, Ryn continued to craft emotionally resonant stories that blend warmth with social commentary. Her second novel, "The Imperfect Art of Caring," further establishes her focus on compassionate storytelling. When not writing, she enjoys woodland walks and indulging in yoghurt-covered sweets. Ryn resides in Dover with her family and their energetic springer spaniel.
