Jessica Thompson

Jessica Thompson is a British author known for her contemporary fiction and mystery novels. Her debut novel, "This Is a Love Story," was published in 2012 by Coronet, Hodder and Stoughton, followed by "Three Little Words" in 2013. She later gained recognition for her Amazon best-selling mystery series, including "A Caterer’s Guide to Holidays and Homicide" and "A Caterer’s Guide to Love and Murder," the latter of which was a finalist in the Wishing Shelf Awards. Thompson also curated and contributed to the supernatural anthology "Beyond the Woods: A Supernatural Anthology."

Born in Yorkshire and raised in France and Kent, Thompson developed a passion for writing early in life, often sharing her stories and poems with her family. She trained as a journalist through the National Council for the Training of Journalists and worked as a reporter for six years before transitioning into charity communications and digital marketing while pursuing fiction. Her background in journalism and storytelling informs her engaging narrative style.

Now based in Austin, Texas, Thompson is active in the writing community, serving as Assistant Communications Chair for the Storymakers Guild and Program Assistant for the Writer’s League of Texas. When not writing, she draws inspiration from her family’s longhorn cattle ranch, gardening, and culinary pursuits, which often influence her mystery plots. She continues to balance her creative work with academic pursuits, including studies through the Open University.
