Jessie Janowitz

Jessie Janowitz is a middle grade author known for her engaging and heartwarming novels. Her debut book, "The Doughnut Fix," was published in 2018 and became a Cybils finalist, a Junior Library Guild Selection, and an Amazon Best Book of the Month. Its sequel, "The Doughnut King," released in 2019, also earned recognition as a Junior Library Guild Selection. Both books were named Bank Street Best Children’s Books of the Year, with "The Doughnut Fix" winning the Mississippi Children’s Choice Award and appearing on seven state reading lists. Her forthcoming novel, "All the Ways to Go," is set for release in 2024.

Janowitz holds a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School and an MFA in Writing for Children from Vermont College of Fine Arts, blending her legal background with a passion for storytelling. Her books often explore themes of family, perseverance, and entrepreneurship, resonating with young readers. A graduate of Princeton University, she continues to live in New York City with her family.
