Jill A. Davis is an American author and television writer best known for her bestselling novels "Girls' Poker Night" and "Ask Again Later." Her debut novel, "Girls' Poker Night," became a New York Times bestseller and was published in five languages across twelve countries. Her second novel, "Ask Again Later," also achieved bestseller status and is held by nearly 900 libraries.
Before transitioning to fiction, Davis built a successful career in television, earning five Emmy nominations for her work as a writer on "Late Show with David Letterman." She later created and executive-produced the television pilot "Anna Says" for Dreamworks. Her diverse writing portfolio includes screenplays, teleplays, short stories, and magazine articles. Prior to her television career, she worked as a newspaper reporter and columnist.
A graduate of Emerson College with a journalism degree, Davis also holds an honorary PhD in Arts & Letters from Endicott College. Originally from Pennsylvania, she resides in New York City with her husband and daughter.
