Jim DeFelice

Jim DeFelice is an acclaimed American author, celebrated for his expertise in writing techno-thriller novels and non-fiction books. He is well-known for his collaborative works with notable authors such as Stephen Coonts, Dale Brown, Larry Bond, and Richard Marcinko. DeFelice's writing partnerships have led to the creation of several bestsellers, including those in the Andy Fisher series and the works featuring the U.S. Navy SEAL Team Six.

One of DeFelice's most successful non-fiction books is the New York Times bestseller "American Sniper," which he co-wrote with the late Chris Kyle, the deadliest sniper in the history of the U.S. military. Additionally, DeFelice has written about other real-life heroes in books like "Fighting Blind," which tells the story of Ivan Castro, a blind soldier from the Special Forces, marathon runner, and combat veteran.

In 2016, DeFelice published "CODE NAME: JOHNNY WALKER," a memoir he co-wrote with the real "Johnny Walker," an Iraqi translator who fought alongside U.S. Special Forces during the Iraq War. The book offers a first-hand account of the war and has been praised for its harrowing personal journey of courageous self-empowerment.

Jim DeFelice is an accomplished author who has written over 50 fiction and non-fiction books, with around 15 of them becoming bestsellers on the New York Times list. He made his fiction debut in 1992 with the release of "Coyote Bird," which introduced the lead character Andy Fisher, a special agent who works with the FBI. DeFelice has described Fisher as a coffee swilling, hard driving, and chain-smoking badass who frequently raises the ire of his enemies and superiors.

In addition to his fictional works, DeFelice has written about the history of the U.S. military, including "US RANGERS AT DIEPPE" and "OMAR BRADLEY: GENERAL AT WAR." His latest work, "WEST LIKE LIGHTNING: THE BRIEF, LEGENDARY RIDE OF THE PONY EXPRESS," delves into the history of the iconic Pony Express and its role in the American frontier's most audacious enterprise. DeFelice's meticulous research and vivid storytelling have earned him a reputation as a master storyteller and a meticulous researcher.

Born in New York City, Jim DeFelice currently resides in the Hudson Valley region.
