Jim Field is a highly accomplished British illustrator, animation director, and character designer. He studied animation at Hull School of Art and Design, where he graduated in 2002. This education provided the foundation for his successful career in animation and illustration. Field began his career as a director for Partizan, where he worked on various projects, including title sequences and music videos.
In addition to his work in animation, Field has become well-known for his illustration work, particularly in children's books. He has won multiple awards for his work, including the Lollies, The Roald Dahl Funny Prize, The Evening Standards Oscars Prize, and The Sainsbury's Award. In 2018, he was the 5th bestselling children's book illustrator of the year. Field has collaborated with several renowned authors, including Kes Gray, Rachel Bright, Julian Gough, Michelle Robinson, Michael Broad, Jeanne Willis, Steve Cole, comedian David Baddiel, and Sir Michael Morpurgo.
Some of Field's most notable works include "Oi Frog!", "Oi Dog!", "The Lion Inside", "Cats Ahoy!", and "The Parent Agency". These books have won numerous awards, including the Bishops Stortford Picture book Award, the English Association 4-7 Fiction Picture Book Award, the FCBG Younger Children's Category, the Lollies Picture Book Category, and the UKLA Book Award. Field's work is celebrated for its humor, creativity, and unique style. He currently resides in Paris with his wife, daughter, and a small grumpy cat.
