Jo Beverley was a highly acclaimed and beloved author in the historical romance genre. Born on September 22, 1947, in Lancashire, England, she was known for her meticulous research and attention to historical detail, which brought her stories to life. Beverley obtained a degree in English history from Keele University in Staffordshire, where she met her future husband, Ken Beverley. After graduation, they married and moved to Canada in the mid-70s, where Beverley began her writing career in earnest.
Beverley's first romance novel, "Lord Wraybourne's Betrothed," was published in 1988, and she quickly established herself as a force to be reckoned with in the genre. She went on to publish over 40 novels and numerous short stories, many of which became bestsellers. Beverley won numerous awards for her work, including five RITA awards, two Career Achievement awards from Romantic Times, and multiple Golden Leaf and Award of Excellence awards. She was also a member of the RWA Honor Roll and RWA Hall of Fame.
