Jo Knowles is an acclaimed author of books for children and young adults, known for her emotionally resonant storytelling. She has written numerous titles, including "Still a Work in Progress," "Read Between the Lines," and "Living With Jackie Chan." Her novel "See You at Harry’s" received widespread recognition, earning a New York Times Editor's Choice and Notable Book designation. Her works often explore themes of family dynamics, personal growth, and the complexities of adolescence.
Knowles holds a master's degree in children's literature and has been honored with multiple awards, including two SCBWI Crystal Kite Awards and the PEN New England Children's Book Discovery Award. Several of her books, such as "Pearl" and "Jumping Off Swings," have been featured on prestigious lists, including the American Library Association Notable Books and YALSA's Best Fiction for Young Adults. In addition to writing, she teaches in the Mountainview MFA program at Southern New Hampshire University. Knowles resides in Vermont with her family.
